This past Saturday we spent the entire day in Julian at Ryan and Gina's place. It is a long curvy two hour drive, but worth the trip. There business is called Julian Mining Company. For those of you who don't know, Ryan and Gina have been there for about a year. They started their own business doing activities similar to what they did in Oak Glen on Ryan's family farm, Riley's Farm. They do school tours, Gold Rush and Civil War tours during the fall and spring. They also have a store on the property where you can buy gifts, candy, nuts and dried fruit. There are various activities for people to do during the fall including hayrides, apple cider pressing, pick berries and pumpkins and candle dipping. They have a small petting zoo too. We went down to see all they have done and take part in their Harvest Hoedown which started in the evening. We had a Chuck wagon dinner under a tent, and took a hayride. The other guests also bobbed for apples, square danced, carved pumpkins, panned for gold, and pressed cider. Steve, Natalie, Ashton, Molly and Max joined us. As well as Rich's friend from college, Randy and his wife Amber and boys, Andrew and William. We had a great time, and took some great pics of Ruthie in her bonnet, given to her by Auntie Gina.
